Greater Kolkata fan cluster (West Bengal)

Introduction

Kolkata and its suburbs have a range of industries, including a cluster of about 70 MSME units engaged in the manufacture of different kinds of fans including ceiling, table, and exhaust fans, serving both domestic and national markets. The cluster produces about 9 million fans per year, of which 45 micro units produce 1.5 million fans; 20 small units produce 3.3 million fans; and 5 medium-sized units produce 4.1 million fans.
