Introduction

A large presence of local fishing in Porbandar has led to significant growth of ice making industries, which is expected to increase further. Most of the ice making industries in Porbandar cluster are of small and micro types. Different types of ice can be produced by ice making units - block ice, flake ice, etc. However, the ice making units in Porbandar cluster are mainly engaged in producing block ice. Block ice is very popular and its production is economically viable.
