Samalkha foundry cluster (Haryana)
Introduction
Samalkha, a town in Panipat district of Haryana, is about 80 km from Delhi. Samalkha is renowned for its MSME foundry cluster, which came up in the late-1940s. There are around 50 foundries in the cluster, of which only 30 are operational. The average monthly production of units ranges from 50 tonnes to 120 tonnes. The foundries provide direct employment to about 2000 people.
